Earth Day at Foresight
In 1970, a junior Senator from Wisconsin organized a network of teach-ins at colleges and universities across the US in response to a massive oil spill in Santa Barbara, CA. He aimed to educate students about the environmental effects of industrialization. This movement on April 22, 1970, would mark the very first Earth Day. To date, Earth Day has mobilized over 1 billion individuals through 75,000 partner organizations in 190 countries.
At Foresight, we love Earth Day for its power to unite individuals across national, religious, and political lines for the good of our planet. Despite our different languages, cultures, or policies, we can all agree: the earth is our home.
