foresight: care for the future

Founded in 2007 as a boutique performance contractor named Midwest Energy Group, Foresight has a proud history of responding to our clients’ needs with innovative service offerings. We continue to evolve and serve, leaning on our history to inspire our future.

our history

2007

We started as a wholly owned subsidiary of a mechanical contractor. Our focus was serving Michigan municipalities and institutions as a boutique performance contractor.

2009

We pivoted to selling single measure energy efficiency projects and added in-house engineering capabilities. Our client base expanded to the commercial and industrial markets within and beyond Michigan.

2013

We piloted and beta tested, “Foresight”, an energy management service and software offering. Foresight was our first formal way of partnering with our clients as their “Outsourced Energy Managers”.

2015

We underwent a change in ownership, fully adopting the vision to pursue the “outsourced energy manager” model. Our service capabilities expanded into utility bill collection and consulting on a global scale.

2017

In conjunction with adding our 1,000th building onto our Foresight service, we changed our name from “Midwest Energy Group” to “Foresight Management”. Energy procurement consulting was added to our suite of services as well.

2018

We acquired the Building Performance Team which added energy modeling and commissioning services to our offering. As our team expanded we added waste characterization and carbon management expertise as well.

2020

We acquired Sustainable Research Group, which added a full suite of sustainability consulting services to our capabilities.

2021

We acquired VIKRON ENERGY SOLUTIONS, which added technical depth and an expanded service offering around natural gas procurement consulting. Additionally we added deep expertise and capabilities in the design and new construction industry, all centered around the integrative design process and “green” building certifications and standards.
